What are the advantages and disadvantages of short-run printing?

Short-run printing is the combination of offset and POD types of printing. In simple terms, short-run printing allows authors to print a small quantity of print collaterals to help control initial costs. This type of printing is best for books by writers or authors who want to publish a small number of books. This will not work with magazines, brochures, etc.

With short-run printing, it is economical to print between 25 to 200 books if you have a small budget. Another note is that short-run printing requires smaller operating space than offset printing.

Advantages of Short-run printing

  • Higher quality of materials due to the limited quantity and more options for customizations
